Starting out as a painter at just 19, today David is a highly skilled foreman. It has been a privilege to watch him develop. He is my sounding board when it comes to colours and techniques, and is a true artist in his own right. After several Tjhoko colours had been launched, David came to me a few years back and said if Tjhoko were to launch an old-white colour, it needed to be named after him. The chalk paint colour Da'vid is an old, vintage white shade. Perfect to create an elegant Scandinavian look with the off-white Tjhoko palette and natural elements.

Sherif is part of the production process. He has a quiet manner and treats all those around him with care and respect. Sherif is young, but has gained a lot of life experience in his few short years. His Tjhoko colour is popular with customers because it is so versatile, but personally Sherif is rather partial to Jane’s Jade - and all the other shades in the turquoise palette too. Don’s Wash

Donovan joined us as a young, unmarried man. In time we got to know him and his wife, Melanie, as a loving couple and today they have two gorgeous boys, Stéffan and Émile. Don’s Wash is a neutral chalk paint colour with warm undertones, here it was used to create a cement-look textured wall with Stencil of Paris.

Levinia is Jaco’s sister. She is an artist in her own right when it comes to combining and visualising colours. She has also mastered the application of various paint techniques that have our clients speechless with delight time and again. Granny Doreen and Levinia are inseparable and the two can really chat up a storm! Martin’s Move

Our dad Martin’s ability to combine colours is something that will remain with me always. ‘Look at nature, my child,’ he would say. And 'Paint is like love – it covers everything.' Martin was Jaco’s dad and we sadly lost him very suddenly. He had ‘moves’ when it came to paint and always had the answer. Soft and fresh, Tjhoko Paint Martin's Move is a beautiful warm grey shade of chalk paint. Update and recycle by bringing in a shade that soothes the soul.
