Our readers love decorating and if they can do it themselves, so much the better! And for those of you who have been keen to try chalk paint but have lacked the confidence, our Tjhoko Tour is for you! Tjhoko Paint, a proudly South African chalk paint, is collaborating with Home to present three workshops in various locations in South Africa and one in Namibia.

Hosted by Tjhoko Paint expert Nadine Vosloo, the workshops will show readers how to make their own beautiful table décor – plus offer a few tips and tricks on how to use chalk paint to best effect. The workshops are also ideal for DIY brides and Grade 11 pupils involved in organising this year’s Matric dance.

The workshops

Only 40 people will be accommodated in each three-hour workshop to make sure that everyone receives individual attention. The following projects will be completed under Nadine’s guidance (and you get to take them all home!):

1. Stencil a cheese board (front and back) with Tjhoko Paint’s Stencil of Paris and paint it in the colours of your choice.

2. Decorate a 250ml Consol bottle– ideal for jam or bread sticks on your breakfast table.

3. Paint a napkin.
