Dear Nadine

Wow where does a person start?  When we bought our townhouse in 2017 I realized that there was so much I wanted to upgrade and update. I was then introduced to my beloved Tjhoko Paint.

I started small with a plant stand and a trellis for one of my plants.  Painted both with Cloud white and glazed 3 coats of clear glaze. Well it is now 2021 and they are still standing outside and going strong. I loved the one tjhoko paint class that I attended years back at the Pine shop on ontdekkers road. That was when I realized that this is what I want to do as I have always been a creative person and realized I can follow my dream through Tjhoko.

Then I started on bigger projects once I had built up the confidence. Many items too many to name have been changed and upgraded with tjhoko.  Raised stenciling, enjoy that tremendously with Stencil of Paris. Love the look. Decoupage with clear glaze.

Some items that I have upgraded with tjhoko: lamp, coffee table, side tables, loose standing chair, clock and dish cloth holder from scratch, key holder,  headboard and side tables for our son’s room, happy family board for braai area, large braai table, dining room dresser, bunnies, bar stools, bedroom frames, female bodice, painting on material, washing baskets, Cross, trays, cheese boards, bathroom bins, Christmas presents, Christmas tree. Many, many more to name. The one that really stands out to me is the transformation of our bedroom suite which I entered in the TJHOKO HOME MAGAZINE competition. I was so thrilled when I came in the top 10.  That was a real achievement on a personal level for me.

The tjhoko facebook page has been such an inspiration for me and many other tjhokoholics.  This tjhoko journey has been a lifeline for me as well as my happy place.  It is going to give me the opportunity to teach people to paint with tjhoko and do all the techniques with them when we move to Port Elizabeth next year.  I am also doing a course Teach the teacher in May to prepare me for this new journey which I will be following. I will also do commission work for painting furniture items for clients.

If you would like me to add some photos, please be so kind as to let me know.

Tjhoko has changed my life and given me the chance of a new career once we move to the coast.

I thank Tjhoko and the whole Tjhoko team for all their inspiration and dedication, and my wish is that Nadine and the team grow from strength to strength to become the household name in all creative family homes. The fact that Tjhoko has taken Australia by storm, is just a testament to how awesome tjhoko paint is here in South Africa.

Thank you
